The Nichols College Office of Student Involvement has appointed 14 students to serve as 2019 Orientation Leaders, mentoring the incoming members of the Class of 2023 and guiding them toward success as new college students.

Nichols College senior Karen Velasco of Stamford, Conn., is about to graduate from this business school focused on leadership, with a bachelor's degree in finance and international business-as well as an impressive 3.9 grade point average. She also has the pleasure of having to select from several job offers, including one from New York Life.

Twenty Nichols College Students were recognized as Orientation Leaders during the Summer of 2015 for the incoming class of 2019. These students introduced new freshmen students to Nichols College and the community by leading them through team activities and helping them acclimate to the college lifestyle.

Thirty one Nichols students have completed the past academic year as Resident Assistants (RAs). RAs help resident students meet their educational, interpersonal, and social needs within their living environmentL. The RA role is extensive, encompassing community building, programming, and helping as well as administrative and staff responsibilities.

Sixteen Nichols students have been elected class officers for the 2013-14 academic year.

Nine Nichols College students have been selected to lead the student body as Executive Advisory Board Members. EAB members are representatives of the student body who implement changes to improve the quality of life on campus. EAB is largely comprised of Student Government Association members.

Fifteen Nichols College students were named Captains of their respective sports for the Fall, 2013 season. Together, these students have guided their teams to success on and off the playing fields by acting as leaders and role models for teammates.

Twenty-nine Nichols College students have been chosen as Student Ambassadors for the 2013-2014 academic year, with a mixture of returning students and freshmen. Student Ambassadors are leaders who help the admissions staff and give tours to perspective students and families, showcasing Nichols College and its community.

This semester, 23 Nichols College students have taken on extra roles in their classrooms as Teaching Assistants. They will aid the professor in the organization and scheduling of lessons, as well as help students in and outside of the classroom.
