'17': CBS Sports Features Nichols College Football Students from Parkland

DUDLEY, Mass. (09/18/2018) — Tyler Goodman '22, Nichols College first-year football student-athlete from Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., was featured during the Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, CBS pre-game show The NFL Today. Goodman's story was nationally broadcast before the game between the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets. The story is narrated by actor Josh Charles, who is best known for his roles in Dead Poets Society, Sports Night, and The Good Wife.

On Feb. 14, 2018, 17 of Goodman's Stoneman Douglas classmates and a football coach lost their lives in an act of senseless violence. Nichols Assistant Dean for Enrollment Paul Brower and Assistant Football Coach St.Clair Ryan were with Goodman and other football student-athletes in the Stoneman Douglas football office during the time of the shooting.

In late August and early September, reporters from NBC Boston, FOX25 Boston, and NESN were at Nichols to interview Goodman and Nick Defroscia '22, another Stoneman Douglas graduate and Nichols football player and Goodman's college roommate.

During their interviews, Goodman and Defroscia remembered their friends and coach who were lost in the Parkland tragedy, and look to their future as Bison athletes and sport management majors.
